20th Annual Midwest Association of Language Testers (MwALT) Conference
Ready, Steady, Grow! Measuring Language Development from Pre-K through College and Beyond.
September 21-22, 2018
The Pyle Center
University of Wisconsin-Madison
The MwALT 2018 conference marks the twentieth anniversary of our organization as well as the first year that it will be hosted at University of Wisconsin-Madison. We hope to commemorate both these landmarks with a very special conference and look forward to welcoming you all to Madison with two pre-conference workshops on September 21 and MwALT 20 on September 22, 2018.
The conference will be held at UW-Madison's Pyle Center, beautifully situated on Lake Mendota. We hope you can all enjoy a fall weekend in Madison, spending time in one of the most attractive college towns in the country.
Call for Papers
The MwALT 2018 conference theme will be "Ready, Steady, Grow! Measuring Langauge Development from Pre-K through College and Beyond." We welcome papers on any language testing related topic and would particularly value ones that address research in the Pre-K through Grade 12 assessment context. Please see the Call for Papers document for further details.
In keeping with the theme, we are pleased to offer two pre-conference workshops that focus on the language development of students in elementary school. The first workshop will address spoken language development and the second will address students' written language. The workshops will be co-facilitated by researchers from WIDA and the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL).
